There are five species of sea turtles found along the coastline of the Dominican Republic. These ancient mariners cover vast distances until they’re ready to nest and lay their eggs on the warm beaches of this welcoming paradise. But the future of these beautiful creatures is in danger. They depend on an ecosystem that is being destroyed by global warming, over-fishing and plastic waste pollution. At Las Casa Tortugas, we care deeply about the survival of these incredible adventurers, and we recognize the important role that we, and our guests, have to play in protecting their natural environment and their breeding grounds here on the beaches of Sosua and Playa Alicia. We hope that the name of our villa, which loosely translates to "The Turtles' Home" serves as an invitation to Relax, Explore and Play, but always in an eco-friendly way.
